So, my name is Erica, I usually live in DC where I study public health and anthropology in college, spend my breaks from school in Atlanta, and am studying abroad in London for the semester.
I created this blog to document my time abroad, mainly for me because I love photography, love to write, and this is a good way to do both. I also thought it would be a good way to share what I'm up to with anybody who cares to listen (which will most likely be my family and like 3 friends hehe :) ).
Hopefully I won't bore anyone with my rants and raves!
And as far as the name for my blog goes- its from a little poem given to be my grandmother that has since been kind of my goal on how to look at life, so here it is:
My Symphony
To live content with small means;
To seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion;
To be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich;
To study hard, think quietly,
Talk gently,
Act frankly;
To listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart;
To bear all cheerfully,
Do all bravely,
Await occasions,
Hurry never.
In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.
THIS IS TO BE MY SYMPHONY
-William Henry Channing
Much love!
And if you want to follow every detail of my life... you can follow me on twitter... because I am mildly addicted to social media (embarrassing admission #1):
